It was really uplifting to receive such positive feedback
from a subject piece that was particularly meaningful to me. I found working
with a subject close to my heart helped to inspire ideas. Rethinking about how those
negative feelings felt and how I could express them in a creative way, as well
as that little gift of life growing inside of me and the joy she would bring.
I am going to continue to use my sketchbook to help make
notes and sketches of those sudden ideas that popped into my busy mind, so they
didn’t get lost or forgotten. I also found working under time pressure with the
last couple of months being my busiest time at work that I had to work smarter
not harder. This is another reason I feel the sketchbook helped as it was those
brief moments of calm that I could make notes and reflect on ideas.
I am also pleased that using the lightbox was so effective
in the images and video’s I produced and commented on in my feedback. It’s a tool
I can use in future where suited.
I will take forward the notion of working smarter and really
tighten down my time spent on each assignment. As I find this produces some of my
more interesting work. I would also like to continue exploring other artists
work and places of interest, for inspiration and development.
